Questions about a possible link between the quadruple murders of four University of Idaho students and a 2021 stabbing in Salem, Oregon, also remain unsolved.
In both cases, an assailant broke into a house around 3 a.m. and attacked the victims with a knife in their beds while other people were present.
Asked about the case at a press conference on Wednesday, Moscow police chief James Fry confirmed he had received a tip and “there are things we’re going to follow up on”.
Frustration is growing over the investigation into the murders of Kylie Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Jana Karnodol and Ethan Chapin, as no arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified 11 days after the brutal stabbing deaths.
Four students were stabbed to death in an off-campus home on Nov. 13 while their two other roommates slept.
The housemate, Goncalves’ ex-boyfriend, the man who gave Goncalves and Mogen a ride home, and a man who was with them in the food truck have all been ruled out as suspects.

Frustration grew as the police stalled on the case
Frustration is mounting against local authorities investigating the killings as they are bogged down by the case and are withholding key details of the killings.
On Wednesday, Moscow police gave their third press conference in 11 days about the high-profile unsolved case.
In it, they revealed few new details, only reiterated people they had ruled out as suspects and said they were still looking into the theory that Kylie Goncalves had a stalker.
They also refused to say why they believed the killings were targeted – instead asking the terrified community to “trust us”.
“You have to trust it at this point because we’re not going to divulge why we think that,” said Capt. Roger Lanier of the Moscow Police Department.

Who did the police rule out as a suspect?
Eleven days into the investigation, no arrests have been made and no suspects have been named.
However, the police have ruled out several suspects in the gruesome murder. They are:
– Two surviving domestic workers who were in the house at the time of the murder.
– The man caught on camera with Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves at a food truck downtown before heading home.
– The man who delivered Mogen and Goncalves door to door from the food truck.
– Goncalves’ former long-term boyfriend, with whom she shares a dog.

Idaho police reports were unable to confirm that the victim was a stalker
The Moscow Police Department could not confirm reports that murder victim Kaylee Goncalves had a stalker.
Kylie, 21, was brutally stabbed to death on November 13 along with her roommates Madison Mogen, 21, Janna Karnodle, 20, and Janna’s visiting boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, 20.
The department said at a news conference Wednesday that despite “looking extensively” into concerns raised by people who know Goncalves that he is a stalker, police could not confirm those reports.
“We had information through some of our interviews that Kaylee made some comments about having a stalker, so that’s where that came from,” Moscow Police Capt. Roger Lanier said.

Surviving maids get tattoos in tribute to slain friends
A maid who survived a horrific quadruple homicide in Moscow, Idaho, has revealed she got a new tattoo in tribute to her slain friends.
Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Karnodle and Ethan Chapin, the three women they shared in Moscow on Nov. 13, were stabbed to death in an off-campus home.
Two other roommates were home at the time of the murder but were unharmed.
Police said they were on the first floor of the house and believed to have slept through the attack. Housemates, two other female students at the University of Idaho, have been ruled out as suspects.
A surviving domestic worker shared a photo of a new tattoo on her arm on her VCSO account this week.
The tattoo features the initials of Angle Wings and his four murdered friends: “MKXE”.
A second person’s arm is also in the photo with the same tattoo.

Questions mount about a possible link to a 2021 unsolved stabbing murder
Questions are being raised about whether the quadruple murders of four Idaho university students could be linked to the 2021 unsolved stabbings in Oregon.
On August 13, 2021, two victims were attacked in their home in Salem, Oregon, by an assailant who broke in armed with a knife.
Travis and Jamilyn Jueten woke up around 3 a.m. and were attacked by the suspect.
Mr Jueten tried to fight off the attacker but was stabbed to death.
Ms Jueten was stabbed 19 times in the attack but survived.
For more than a year, the case has remained unsolved and has similarities to the Nov. 13 stabbing in Moscow, Idaho, and the murders of four students. In both cases, a suspect armed with a knife entered a home around 3 a.m. and attacked the victims in their beds.
During a press conference on Wednesday, a journalist asked if Moscow police were investigating a possible connection between the two cases.
Moscow Police Department Chief James Fry confirmed that he was aware of the 2021 case and that investigators received a tip about it.
“We’re looking at every avenue and we have other agencies that we have other cases, stuff that we’re going to pursue,” he said.
The two cases have not been officially connected by law enforcement.

Police retrace the final steps of the victims before the murders
During a news conference Wednesday, Moscow Police Capt. Roger Lanier identified Gianna Karnodol, 20, Ethan Chapin, 20, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, and Madison Mogen, 21.
Officials believe the students were killed sometime between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Nov. 13 after arriving home before 2 a.m.
The two surviving victims are believed to be around 1am. Law enforcement was alerted to “an unconscious person” after a 911 call came in at 11:58 a.m. Sunday to a home on King Road.
The call, which police said will not be released at this time, was made from the cellphone of one of the surviving roommates.
Authorities have since revealed that four victims were stabbed to death in their sleep.
The murder weapon was not recovered.

Police repeatedly ruled out roommates and men seen on video with the victim as suspects
Moscow authorities gave a press conference on Wednesday that appeared days ago and gave no updates on the investigation into the murder.
Capt. Roger Lanier reiterated that the two surviving roommates who called 911 around noon on Nov. 13 are not considered suspects.
A man who was captured on Twitch video with two of the victims hours before the murders and a private party who drove the victims home have also been denied.
Authorities have asked to quell speculation, saying online reports that the four victims were tied up and gagged before they were killed were completely false.

Moscow police are urging the public to continue submitting tips
On Wednesday, police renewed their commitment to the investigation and thanked the public for the numerous tips received, stressing that no piece of evidence is too small.
Moscow Police Chief James Fry said they were continuing to investigate more than 1,000 tips received since the Nov. 13 murder.
He encouraged residents to continue submitting information they believe may be connected to the murder.
“We still believe that more information will be gathered,” Mr. Fry said. “We ask anyone with any information … to get that information to us.”
“Even if you don’t believe it’s relevant, investigators will determine if and how your information creates a picture. Sometimes what a picture or video doesn’t show is as important as what should be there.”
