A tour bus carrying 60 passengers plunged off a cliff in Peru, killing at least 23.

The bus was traveling along the Panamericana Norte, a major motorway that runs along the South American country’s west coast.

According to The Sun, the tour company Aguila Dorada was traveling north from Lima to Tumbes with 60 passengers.
The crash was reported at 5am today (local time).
It is believed that the bus lost control on the road and fell more than 160 feet into the ditch.
Police confirmed 23 people died and the injured were taken to a local hospital in Talara, 683 miles northwest of the capital Lima.
Road accidents are high in Peru, with the World Health Organization reporting 4,414 deaths on the country’s roads in 2020.
